Warner Chappell Music announced an administration and sub-publishing agreement with SATORI SONG, the publishing company of French songwriter and performer Étienne Daho, on October 29, 2026. The agreement covers more than 200 songs across a 45-year songwriting catalogue.

What was announced?

The repertoire stretches from Daho’s 1981 debut Mythomane through his 2023 release Tirer la nuit sur les étoiles. It includes works written or composed for performers such as Vanessa Paradis, Jane Birkin, Françoise Hardy and Marianne Faithfull, according to Warner Music Group.

What it means for artists and audiences

A music publishing administration deal concerns composition rights and services such as rights management and royalty collection. It is not necessarily the sale of master recordings or a transfer of full ownership of the underlying songs. Financial terms were not announced.

What to watch next

For independent publishers, the deal is a reminder that accurate metadata, songwriting splits and territory-by-territory collections can matter across decades. A deep catalogue may generate ongoing licensing opportunities, but the agreement itself is not evidence of new chart success or guaranteed income.
