Kacey Musgraves has released a fully Spanish-language version of “Uncertain, TX” with Texas Música Mexicana veterans Intocable. The new recording arrived on October 5, 2026, and gives one of the standout songs from Middle of Nowhere a distinctly Tejano and norteño frame.

“Uncertain, TX” gets a full Spanish re-recording

According to Universal Music Canada, the collaboration is not a simple translated edit. Musgraves re-recorded the song in Spanish with Intocable, whose sound has long connected norteño, Tejano and pop audiences across the U.S.-Mexico border. Apple Music lists the release as a one-song single under exclusive license to Lost Highway.

The original version of “Uncertain, TX,” featuring Willie Nelson, had already reached No. 1 at Texas Radio, giving the song a strong regional base before this new version arrived.

Why Intocable is a meaningful collaborator

For Musgraves, the pairing fits the broader musical language of Middle of Nowhere, an album that draws on the overlapping traditions of country music, Tejano, norteño and other Texas-rooted sounds. Intocable bring decades of credibility in Música Mexicana, making the collaboration more than a language switch.

The release also lands during Musgraves’ Texas run on the Middle of Nowhere Tour, giving the song a timely campaign moment around Houston, Austin and Dallas dates.

What the release means for Musgraves’ current campaign

Cross-language releases can extend the life of an album track when the new version has a clear artistic reason to exist. In this case, the Spanish recording reinforces the song’s geographic and cultural identity while opening a stronger path into Latin and Música Mexicana audiences.

For artists and labels, the strategy is worth watching: a re-recorded version can create a second editorial and discovery window without treating the original as disposable.
